••••FAQ••••

What is a game jam? A game jam is a hackathon for video games. It is a gathering of people for the purpose of planning, designing, and creating one or more games within a short period, usually ranging between 24 and 72 hours, and some even longer.

Do I need experience to participate? No experience is required, but work is mostly self-directed and requires a certain degree of self-commitment. We encourage attendees to come in with a basic set of skills or go through some tutorials before the event. Alternatively you can also choose to download tutorial projects from the game engine of your choosing.

How do I share my project online? Create an account on itch.io and upload your project here: https://itch.io/jam/ludum-dare-51-winnipeg to share it with the local community. For other tips on hosting your game online visit: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/hosting-guide.

What is Ludum Dare? Ludum Dare is one of the world's largest and longest-running Game Jam events.

How do I submit my project to the global Ludum Dare event? Create an account and join the Ludum Dare 51 event on https://ldjam.com/.

Do I need to have a team? Can I work solo? You can work either as a team or solo. If you are looking for a team or have a team and are looking for additional members, we will help match you up on Discord.

How do I participate in the event? Join the Discord (https://discord.io/PegJam) server to chat with the local community via text and chat throughout the event.
